Victory Programs Named Winner of 2025 Amazon Web Services Imagine Grant for Nonprofits

Victory Programs will work with AWS to launch cutting edge technology to transform care for thousands of Boston’s most vulnerable.

Boston, Massachusetts (December 2, 2025) — Victory Programs today announced it has been selected as a winner of the 2025 Amazon Web Services (AWS) Imagine Grant, a public grant opportunity open to registered charities in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, United States, and Canada and registered 501(c) nonprofit organizations in the United States who are using technology to solve the world’s most pressing challenges. The grant will support Victory Programs’ efforts to centralize all of the organization’s operational and programmatic data, enabling real-time insights that will improve outcomes for the more than 5,000 individuals and family members the organization serves annually.

Victory Programs was named a winner in the Momentum to Modernize category, which recognizes foundational technology projects. The organization will receive up to $50,000 in unrestricted funding, up to $30,000 in AWS Promotional Credits, and project implementation support. Proposals were judged on several factors, including the innovative and unique nature of the project, impact on mission-critical goals, and clearly defined outcomes and milestones.

For decades, Victory Programs has helped those facing homelessness, substance use disorders, and chronic health challenges. In recent years, the organization has experienced rapid growth, expanding its services to meet rising community needs. With this growth came an unprecedented increase in data volume and complexity, much of it stored in disconnected systems that slowed analysis and hindered timely decision-making.

The new AWS-Victory collaboration addresses this challenge by consolidating data from multiple sources, including client management systems, financial tools, and outcome-tracking software, into a single secure, scalable environment. This allows staff to generate dynamic dashboards, identify trends, forecast needs, and act faster to connect people with life-saving services.

“Working in collaboration with AWS changes everything about how we serve our community,” said Sarah Porter, President and CEO of Victory Programs. “With this project, we will be able to visualize the whole picture in real time: Who needs our help, what resources they require, and where we can intervene earlier. It means more than just efficiency. It means lives saved and futures rebuilt.”

“At AWS, we’re continually amazed by the nonprofit sector’s innovative spirit and dedication to creating positive change in our communities and around the globe,” said Rick Buettner, director of nonprofits at AWS. “Through the Imagine Grant program, we’re seeing organizations embrace cloud technology in ways that fundamentally reshape how they deliver on their missions. From scaling their impact to reaching underserved communities, these nonprofits are showing us what’s possible when vision meets innovation. We’re proud to support their transformative work and help them build solutions that will benefit communities for years to come.”

This project, in cooperation with AWS, is the first phase of a multi-year vision to become a fully data-driven organization. It will not only strengthen Victory Programs’ work but could also serve as a model for other nonprofits seeking to modernize data systems to better serve their communities. By harnessing the power of our data, we will also be able to advocate more effectively with the City and other partners, ensuring that public resources are directed toward evidence-based programming that delivers meaningful, lasting impact.
