Gratitude Dinner & Manny Jefferson Gratitude Awards
Victory Programs’ Gratitude Dinner was born in 1975 out of an impromptu gathering of a small group of men living at our first program, Victory House, in the South End. With nowhere to go on Thanksgiving, the men cooked together and shared stories of gratitude over a warm meal. That small gathering has since grown into an annual dinner that today hosts more than 300 guests from the Victory Programs’ family, including current and past clients, residents, staff, board, friends, and supporters. The dinner provides an opportunity to reflect on the things in our lives for which we are grateful: family, friends, shelter, community, and health.
41st Annual Gratitude Dinner
On Tuesday, March 22, Victory Programs held its 41st annual Gratitude Dinner at Venezia in Boston. This incredible yearly event brings together Victory Programs’ clients, staff, board members and special guests to reflect on what we are grateful for and to present the Manny Jefferson Gratitude Awards for volunteerism.
The 2016 Manny Jefferson Gratitude Awards for excellence in volunteerism were presented to Boston College’s PULSE Program, celebrating its 40th year of partnering with Victory Programs and to Elizabeth Dugan, representing the Alumni of Victory Programs’ Shepherd House.
The highlight of this incredible evening was our Messages of Gratitude delivered by clients from many of our programs. This is a wonderful opportunity for staff, guests and other clients to hear the stories of the people we serve.
