Ruth Anne’s Fundraiser for ReVision Urban Farm

Closing up for the winter at the farm!

Hi All,

This is Ruth Anne McManus here. I am a volunteer farmer at Victory Programs’ ReVision Urban Farm in the heart of Dorchester, MA. The Farm is a community-based urban agriculture project that grows produce in its own fields and provides access to affordable, nutritious, and culturally appropriate food to residents of Victory Programs’ ReVision Family Home (a long-term shelter for homeless mothers with children), and the extended community.

I volunteer every Friday and I harvest food, maintain the garden, help with cutting microgreens and whatever else is needed. I watch food grow from tiny seeds into full vegetables in a matter of months which is a miracle to see. I especially enjoy picking the cherry tomatoes, which I like to call “nature’s candy.”  Most importantly, I see how important it is for everyone to have access to healthy, fresh food.

Your contribution will go towards keeping ReVision Urban Farm  running during these challenging times.  It will be a long winter before The Farm is back at local farmer’s markets, but you’ll be pleased to know that their CSA shares are very affordable to anyone seeking healthy produce. Please consider making a donation today.  Any amount will be greatly appreciated.

Appreciatively,
Ruth Anne McManus
