Developing skills and knowledge is key to overcoming barriers that stand in the way of achieving your goals. The Boston Living Center offers groups, workshops, classes, and community forums to help members work on goal-setting and skill-building.
3rd Thursday Forum: Every third Thursday, 1:30 PM
Workshops cover health, wellness, policy, advocacy, and research and feature presentations by some of Boston’s top experts in the field of HIV/AIDS. 3rd Thursday forums are open to members of the public and BLC members.
3rd Thursday Insitute (3TI): Meets bi-monthly on four consecutive Thursdays, 1:45 PM – 3:30 PM
This workshop series is for individuals living with HIV. It expands on the BLC’s 3rd Thursday Forums by taking participants through a series of workshops that delve deeper into the topics covered in the forums.
Tuesday Toolbox: Meets bi-monthly on the last Tuesday of each month, 1:45 PM – 3:30 PM
Hands-on workshops that deliver information and tools for people living with HIV to learn how to better manage challenges in their lives.
Cyberspace Computer Lab: Monday and Thursday, 12:00 PM – 7:5 PM & Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, 12:00 PM – 4:45 PM
Internet access and the latest Microsoft Office applications, workshops, and one-on-one support.
Working POZ: Meets the 2nd & 4th Monday of each month, 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM
An open and ongoing peer-led support group for individuals with HIV who are either participating in the workforce, working on workforce re-entry, and/or pursuing higher education.
INDIVIDUAL COMPUTER TUTORING
Available by Appointment
Come meet with one of our volunteers and bring your questions and curiosity to learn more about computer programs. Get help setting up an email account, learn to type a document, etc. More experienced, as well as “never touched a computer” are welcome, we will work at your level.
