We were truly honored to award the Peter Daniel Clark Award for HIV/AIDS advocacy to our friends Jim Morgrage and Frank Ribaudo, co-owners of Club Cafe,
who have been tireless in their support of Victory Programs and the Boston Living Center, and to the HIV/AIDS community at large.
We were also thrilled to give special recognition to Mayor Thomas M. Menino for his career-long
support of HIV/AIDS programs and services, and the Boston Living Center in particular.
Mayor Menino has been a regular presence at the Celebration of Life since he took office in
1993 and we hope he continues to join us for many years to come. Victory Programs honored the mayor by officially naming of our ReVision Urban Farm greenhouse the “Mayor Thomas M. Menino Greenhouse” in gratitude for his support of urban farming in the city of Boston. We will also be serving special “Tom-atoes” grown at ReVision Urban Farm exclusively at the Boston Living Center, and presented Mayor Menino with an original watercolor painting of tomatoes by BLC member Gary Hill.
As if all of that wasn’t enough, our unstoppable TIPS Servers raised the most money in donations in the history of the Celebration of Life – over $45,000 and growing! These selfless volunteers are the heartbeat of this event and we are so grateful for their participation!
The 2013 Celebration of Life raised a record-breaking amount to-date – over $150,000! Huge thanks to all of our corporate sponsors and individual donors for making this event a huge success for Victory Programs and the Boston Living Center!
The Celebration of Life offers an annual opportunity for people living with HIV/AIDS and their loved ones to gather for a free, full course Thanksgiving meal to celebrate the joy the life, community and friendship. In 2012, nearly 700 guests joined us for the Celebration of Life at the Hynes Convention Center. Click here to view our photo album from the 2012 Celebration of Life!
