About the Celebration of Life
The Celebration of Life Dinner was born in 1988 when Peter Daniel Clark, one of the
Boston Living Center’s (BLC) founding members, wanted to bring people living with
HIV/AIDS together with their families and friends around the holidays to celebrate
another year of life. Clark died from AIDS-related complications in 1992, but his
work lives on.
A Cause for Celebration: 25th Anniversary
2014 marks the 25th anniversary of the Boston Living Center. We have much to
celebrate as we have come so far in learning how to prevent and treat HIV/AIDS since the grim early days of the epidemic.
For 25 years, the BLC has been giving new meaning to the phrase “living with HIV/AIDS.” The Center’s prime objective is to
help individuals not just live with their HIV or AIDS diagnosis—but thrive—and we have made great strides. Although our work
is not done, we celebrate the Boston Living Center’s commitment to its members and the spirit of all people living with HIV/AIDS.
