To the more than 200 amazing volunteers and our incredible VPI staff who helped make our annual Celebration of Life Thanksgiving Dinner a night to remember, thank you for contributing to an amazingly successful evening! We served more than 600 guests – members of the HIV/AIDS community and their loved ones – and raised more than $120,000 to support the Boston Living Center.
The Celebration of Life Dinner was born in 1988 when Peter Daniel Clark, one of the Boston Living Center’s (BLC) founding members, decided to bring people living with HIV/AIDS together with their families and friends around the holidays to celebrate another year of life. Clark died from AIDS-related complications in 1992, but his work lives on. The 2015 Celebration of Life theme was “An Abundance of Victories.” The event was held at the Hynes Convention Center on Tuesday, November 10, 2015.
In addition to giving guests a chance to come together in community, the Celebration of Life is Victory Programs’ biggest fundraiser of the year. We would like to thank the individual donors and corporate sponsors who gave so generously to support this event and our Boston Living Center. The 2015 Celebration of Life has raised more than $120,000 to date! If you would like to make a donation to help us reach our goal of $130,000, please click here.
We were proud to honor former Boston Living Center Director and legendary activist and community advocate, Larry Kessler, with this year’s Peter Daniel Clark Award. One of the most renowned and respected AIDS activists, Larry is known for founding the AIDS Action Committee of Massachusetts, among numerous other contributions to the field of HIV/AIDS.
