The Bobbie White House offers permanent, supportive sober and drug free housing to homeless men and women of culturally and racially diverse backgrounds who are recovering from addiction.  The Bobbie White House is a community health networking project that unites the resources of the Commonwealth Land Trust and Victory Programs.

The residence is a wheelchair accessible, brick row house containing 13 individual units located in Boston's South End.  Six units contain kitchenettes, while the other seven have access to two communal kitchens.  Four of the units have private bathrooms, and the remaining units share baths.  A common room is also open to all residents; this space is intended to nurture an environment of peer support and a sense of community.

A Resident of the Bobbie White House   is a man or woman who is recovering from addiction, may have HIV disease, and is homeless.  All residents have demonstrated a significant commitment to the process of recovery, generally by having completed programs of addiction treatment and relapse prevention.  They also have revealed a willingness to contribute and participate daily in the community life of the household.

The supportive residence takes its name from Bobbie White, a recovering addict with AIDS, who was one of Boston's first health educators to address the special public health care concerns and rights for people living with both addiction and HIV disease.  Until his death in 1991, Bobbie White was an influential leader and public advocate for health care and service accessibility.

Our assisted living services promote an atmosphere of peer support and community among residents.  Caring relationships and companionship with other residents are a cornerstone of wellness, stability, and hope.  With on-site assisted living support provided with attention to cultural and language differences, residents of the Bobbie White House are empowered to manage all aspects of health and wellness in their lives.

Community networking resources  The Bobbie White House also provides access to numerous resources available through AIDS Action Committee and Victory Programs, such as case management, benefits assistance, referral and many other community services.
A safe, loving home Is a place of reconciliation and renewal, dignity and hope, support and love.  The Bobbie White House offers a supportive community living environment in which the daily attention to recovery and healing can flourish.
